While at one of our neighborhood garden shops, I ran across a pretty little plant. Well, it is little now.

The plant info states it may get 3′-5′ tall.

According to UBC Botany Photo of the Day–“Its strong flavour is described as akin to fresh cilantro with overtones of lemon and anise.”

I was at the neighborhood Farm Supply picking up a few plants for the gardens when I found this bit of a succulent.

It was on the shelf next to the six pack of Kalanchoe pumila I selected. I took it with me when I checked out. Before I finished asking if I could have it, the person working in the garden center said yes.
I placed it on a pot of soil and hope that eventually some roots will emerge.

Placed five of Kalanchoe pumila in the garden.

I liked the plant so much, I potted one up to enjoy in the house.

Earwigs love to live in the top leaves of the plant. I use a soft brush to remove them and their debris.

And to remove debris that collects on their leaves.

Did my Japanese Maple Die?
Before I left for a week in August, my little Japanese Maple looked like this–

I came home to find it looking like this–

Concerned that it might dying. I removed all of the dead leaves, and waited.
Relieved that today my little Japanese Maple now looks like this–

When the Weeping Jade was planted in the garden.

After Numerous Days of Rain

The rain and storms have wrecked some of my succulents. We have had more rain from July to March, than we had July to June the previous year.
Echeveria pulvinata Red Velvet

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana

Not sure what this plant might be. I purchased it for .50 at the local Farm Supply

Senecio Jacobseni Weeping Jade
Some of the leaves on this plant are rotting.

Another plant that I have yet to identify, but it is lovely and about to bloom.

Datura pod, seed ready to be planted. The plant was started from a volunteer the previous year.
