Fragrant Flowers of Senecio radicans

Hoped Senecio radicans would work as a ground cover. Hasn’t disappointed.
It is growing all over the garden.

The Senecio radicans growing on the ground were from potted plants on a ledge.

Yeah, the oak leaves are still a problem.

The bamboo stake is where a Datura seedling was planted. The morning after I planted it, all of the leaves had been eaten. I trimmed the plant with the hope it may continue to grow. They are fairly resilient.

Senecio jacobsenii with Ice Plant

Senecio jacobsenii with some type of ice plant. The start was snagged from my brother-in-law’s garden. It has been three years, first flowers this season. I like that the flowers become a bit pale pink before becoming spent.

Datura Seedlings–Leaf Damage

Datura Seedling Leaf Damage

When I was organizing photos I shot yesterday, I noticed eggs on the underside of the damaged Datura leaves. They were so small I didn’t see them until I enlarged the photo. The shape of the eggs is fairly clear, but the image is not in focus.

Everything loves Datura and Brugmansia. Every seedling I transplanted to the garden, was eaten by the next morning. Even hidden plants, were found and damaged by the next morning. I hid this plant inside Hellebore leaves. Still somehow found and damaged.

Cool Plant in the Neighborhood

I am loving the plant–buds, flowers, and foliage. Googled it. Not sure which Feijoa cultivar it might be.

The plant is quite large. One side of our deck looks out onto the next door parking lot. Would be nice not to see it. Currently there is a Cordia boissieri in the location that just isn’t doing well. Maybe a Feijoa would be the solution.

I’ve never had guava.
