Sansevieria Flowers in Garden

This is an unkempt section of the courtyard. There are several inches of oak and pine litter that I haven’t had the energy to clean up.

Sansevieria Fireplace

Inside the ‘fireplace’ there are several starts of Trapped Cactus, Sansevieria, and miscellaneous other plants.

Left to their own devices three Sansevieria have flower stems.

Not a single Sansevieria potted up inside and cared for, is blooming. Perhaps a plant can be given too much care?

New Growth–Brachychiton

March 2016, I gathered seed pods from the Home Depot parking lot.

Brachychiton Pods

I planted several seeds. Nine trees survived. The trees are 18″ to 36″ in height. Seven were transplanted next to the garden wall.

Two trees are still in pots. One has some beautiful new growth. I hoped that the buds would become flowers. They chose to become more leaves.

Garden Finds

How was the hole made? An animal?

Hole

Hole

Nope, it was the location of a large pinecone.

The pinecone was eaten by some type of animal.

Pine Pollen
The first time I have seen pine pollen up close. It fell into the garden during a windy evening. The trees are roughly 40′ tall.

In the four days it has been on the dining room table, it has opened up more. Its pollen is clearly visible.

Wind Toppled Trees

When I walked into the kitchen I noticed both potted pine trees had toppled over.

Wind Today

Apparently even though we put a ton of weight in the bottom of the pot, the Norfolk Pine is still top heavy enough to be toppled over by the wind.

Norfolk Pine Fallen

Moved it closer to the corner of the house, hoping to prevent another fall.
Norfolk Pine Righted

This is the tree we brought in for Christmas the past several years.

Moved it closer to the house to protect it from the wind.

Unfortunately, the Norfolk Pine isn’t fragrant, but nice greenery.

Norfolk Pine Bits

Thought the container of bits might be fun to knit into a small bowl.
