When I was in graduate school in the 90s, I went junking with a fellow artist. I purchased a couple of realms of kids’ paper for practicing handwriting.
I used several sheets to make signatures to try a new book format. Bamboo yarn was used to tie the signatures together.
The front and back covers were made of blank flash cards.
A band of the flash card paper was used to secure the book. Rather than glue or stitchwork, I used a round head fastener.
I wrote and erased School Days on the cover.
Yep, that is a Dixon Beginners pencil.
Macrame knots were used to bind the tails together.
I learned three things making this little book: a new binding technique, addition of macrame, and how to make a wrap closure.
